Certificate distribution ceremony of Sewing Center established by AMUOBA
Certificate distribution ceremony of Free Sewing Training Center established and operated by Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association Lucknow was organized which was presided over by senior Alig Mr. Anwarul Hai Lari.
After recitation of Holy Quran Sewing Center, Coordinator Tabassum Kidwai, Former Principal of Talim Gah Niswan Inter College, presented details about Sewing Center in her welcome speech. She informed that this center was established by AMU Old Boys Association Lucknow in the year 1994 Since then hundreds of women and girl students have taken advantage of this. She further informed that this center was established for the welfare of women from economically weaker sections so that they can be self-dependent.
On this occasion, Ashish Tiwari, in-charge of Raymond Tailoring Center said that Government ITI- Raymond Tailoring Center located in Aliganj campus is committed to uplift the weaker sections of the society by providing employable skills to the unemployed. He added that the center is providing training to the students in government certified tailoring and sewing courses absolutely free of cost and along with tailoring. Soft skills training will also be provided to all the trainees. He said that at the end of 4 months or 720 hours course, the trainee will get a job along with a certificate. He urged the trainees of Tailoring Center run by AMU Old Boys Association to give a new dimension to their skills by taking admission in Raymond Tailoring Centre.
Former president of the association, Tariq Siddiqui said in his address that the present era is that of excellence and only those who do better will be successful in this era. He appealed to the women present on the occasion to take advantage of the opportunities for further improvement in whatever art they have learned.
Association President Professor Shakeel Kidwai said that he was very happy to see that this center is scripting a new chapter of success under the supervision of AMUOBA Lucknow. On this occasion, he expressed gratitude to the people of Alig community, who are coming forward to help this center.
He said that it is because of such selfless personalities that the successful journey of this sewing center is going on.
During the event, 62 women and girl students who have successfully received training from the center this year were awarded certificates. Five best performing trainees – Nagma Begum, Roohi Bano, Khushnuma Parveen, Pooja Yadav and Anam Firdaus were awarded by Sr. Alig Tariq Ghauri (Ex-IRS), Aftab Ahmad Khan (Ex-IG, CRPF), Int. They were gifted one sewing machine each by Mohd. Matloob Khan, Er. Azmat Asif and Moinuddin.
Dean, Era University and a Senior Alig, Professor Riyaz Mehdi and Begum Mehdi gifted Fashion Maker Machine to the Sewing Center. After the certificate distribution ceremony, the garments and other stuff created at the sewing center was displayed for sale. The program was organized by the association’s secretary Syed Muhammad Shoaib and said that AMUOBA is ready to provide all possible help to women looking for a career in the field of sewing and embroidery. Saira Hashmi, Instructor of Silai Kendra gave the vote of thanks.
Among those present on the occasion included Treasurer of the Association Anwar Habib Alvi, Former Vice President Tariq Fayyaz, Dr. Zia Afroz Rizvi, Abu Omama, Farah Diba, Farzana Parveen, Imrana Azmat, Farzana Naheed, Farah Sarosh, Azra Yasmin, Shaheen Ansari, Sahar Bano, Nisar Fatima Rizvi, Nigar Shakeel, Suresh Patel and Izza Syed.
